Ithaca is 6-0 against Shepherd since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ithaca Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Shepherd Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. Ithaca will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Thursday, Ithaca got themselves on the board against Carrollton/Saginaw, but Carrollton/Saginaw never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the 52-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Ithaca, who have now won six matches by 49 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ithaca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Risner, who rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Jackson Conn was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.
Ithaca's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Nathan Mikesell and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Shepherd fell victim to Clare's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Pioneers 48-0. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Shepherd couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ithaca's win bumped their season record to 8-0 while Shepherd's loss dropped theirs to 3-6.
Ithaca strolled past Shepherd in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 21-7. Does Ithaca have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shepherd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
