The Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-56 to Morris. While losing is never fun, Joliet Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Morris is ranked 169th).
Several Hilltoppers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Dulinsky, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Birsa, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Joliet Catholic has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Morris, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Joliet Catholic will be playing at home against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Morris' road trip will continue as they head out to face LaSalle-Peru at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. LaSalle-Peru is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
