The team relied heavily on Sage Rodmyre, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amira Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fort Myers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 16-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, North Fort Myers waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Fightin' Tarpons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Knights have posted since March 3rd.
Kaliyah Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Abigail Hynes was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kelley Conley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Fort Myers' record is now 19-6-1. As for North Fort Myers, their record now sits at 17-6.
Fort Myers' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Green Wave have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for North Fort Myers, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fort Myers continue to outrun the ball?
