Alhambra is 0-6 against Campolindo since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Alhambra Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Campolindo Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Alhambra posted their biggest victory since December 21, 2023 on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 59-24 victory over Concord. Given Alhambra's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Concord is ranked 990th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alhambra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Gillaspy, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaimison Krause, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Campolindo was able to grind out a solid victory over Benicia on Monday, taking the game 57-45.
Campolindo can attribute much of their success to Gavin Rendle, who scored 15 points, and Dylan Mansour, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Mansour's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Ren Marchetti was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Alhambra's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Campolindo, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Alhambra and Campolindo are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Alhambra hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.7 points per game. However, it's not like Campolindo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 58.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Alhambra took a serious blow against Campolindo in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, falling 73-33. Thankfully for Alhambra, Chase Bennett (who scored 16 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
