Florala is 0-9 against Elba since February of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Florala is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Florala had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Laurel Hill on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Hoboes. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Hoboes: they've now won four in a row.
Paige Musso made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Musso was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubree Powell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Murray, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Florala was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Elba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to Brantley. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Florala's record now sits at 15-4. As for Elba, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
Elba's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Florala hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .426. It's a different story for Elba, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Florala's hitters?
Florala suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Elba in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
