Softball Recap: Upper Cape Cod RVT Wins Going Away Against South Shore Vo-Tech

Upper Cape Cod RVT barely beat South Shore Vo-Tech the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-5 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Taysia Lopes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits. Lopes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Upper Cape Cod RVT got a massive performance out of Amya Irving, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Irving continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jaelynn Harraden was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Upper Cape Cod RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Upper Cape Cod RVT has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for South Shore Vo-Tech, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper Cape Cod RVT will square off against Bristol-Plymouth RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Craftsmen have averaged an impressive 15.3 runs per game this season. As for South Shore Vo-Tech, they will challenge Old Colony RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
