The Naples Big Green Machines will head out on the road to challenge the Campbell-Savona Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Naples will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Friday, Naples beat Geneva 13-9.
Emily Lester made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Lester was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Abigail Hall was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mia Betrus, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Campbell-Savona lost 9-3 to Canisteo-Greenwood on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kali Maddock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Zimar, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Campbell-Savona's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Naples, their record is now 6-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Naples has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Campbell-Savona struggles in that department as they've averaged .541. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Naples suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Campbell-Savona in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Big Green Machines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
