Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate got themselves on the board against Carrollwood Day on Thursday, but Carrollwood Day never followed suit. They managed a 6-0 victory over the Carrollwood Day Patriots. The Phoenix's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate found their leader in sophomore Micah Pisano, who rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Pisano.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.2 points on average over those games. As for Carrollwood Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winthrop College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th.
