Softball Recap: Carolina Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Carolina Academy won the last time they faced Lee Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Cavaliers. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Raeley Frye was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Carlie Anne Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paisley Coker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win snapped Carolina Academy's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-8 record. As for Lee Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Carolina Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against King's Academy on the 10th. As for Lee Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-6 win against Laurens Academy on the 10th.
