The Clark Montessori Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Blanchester Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clark Montessori barely beat New Miami the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Vikings 11-1 on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Garvin Dixon made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Clark Montessori is undefeated when Dixon posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ethan Ernst was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Mason Hunt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Clark Montessori always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Blanchester duked it out with Felicity-Franklin last Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Cardinals. 11 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Sammy Roush was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Sears, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Cole Mueller was another key player, going 1-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Blanchester and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Clark Montessori, their record is now 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clark Montessori has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blanchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clark Montessori suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Blanchester in their previous meeting back in May of 2018. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
