Volleyball Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

The Jackson Polar Bears came up short against the Avon Eagles on Saturday and fell 2-0.

While Jackson ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Alece Evanto, who had 12 digs. Evanto is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Avon found their leader in sophomore Ally Brediger, who had 18 digs.

Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Avon, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on GlenOak at 6:45 p.m. on the 26th. As for Avon, they will face off against North Ridgeville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
