After three games on the road, South Wake is heading back home. They will take on the New Life Camp Storm at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. South Wake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully New Life Camp likes a good challenge.
South Wake put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Southeastern HomeSchool on the road to the tune of 75-44. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-24.
Jacob Webb was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Avery Lubenco was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
South Wake used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Southeastern HomeSchool. And. Eli Jones made the most of the opportunity, scoring eight points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, New Life Camp came up short against Chatham HomeSchool on Tuesday and fell 61-49. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Life Camp in their matchups with Chatham HomeSchool: they've now lost three in a row.
South Wake's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for New Life Camp, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
South Wake took their win against New Life Camp in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 69-47. With South Wake ahead 44-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
