Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Ambrose School). They claimed a resounding 87-51 victory over the Marsing Huskies. The Archers pushed the score to 69-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Huskies had little chance of recovering from.
Zane Gammon went supernova for The Ambrose School, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Gammon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards.
The Ambrose School was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marsing only posted ten assists.
Despite the loss, Marsing still got an impressive performance from Juan Ponce, who posted 24 points. Ponce's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dresden Wood, who scored six points and eight rebounds.
The Ambrose School pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Marsing, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
