The Wise Pumas can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They put the hurt on Potomac with a sharp 75-51 victory. Given Wise's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Wolverines are ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marcus Rustin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Obase, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Wise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Potomac, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wise will take on the Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Suitland has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while the Pumas will arrive with four straight wins. As for Potomac, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Clippers at 7:15 p.m. Oxon Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Wolverines like a good challenge.
