Red Mountain is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Westwood is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will take on the Westwood Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Red Mountain scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Skyline 76-18 at home. Red Mountain has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 28 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macy Johnson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Payton Westra, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Westwood earned a 45-34 victory over Skyline on Friday. The win was just what Westwood needed coming off of a 78-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Red Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Westwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.
Red Mountain came up short against Westwood in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 49-38. Can Red Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
