The Cochranton Cardinals will challenge the Cambridge Springs Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Cochranton sitting on 13 straight victories and Cambridge Springs on five.
Cochranton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mercyhurst Prep 24-3 on Saturday. Considering the Cardinals have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Karmyn Reese made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Reese was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cochranton got a massive performance out of Alaina Shorts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Shorts a new career-high. Reagann McClain was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Cochranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Springs got themselves on the board against Saegertown on Wednesday, but Saegertown never followed suit. They won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 1-0.
Cochranton pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cambridge Springs, their record now sits at 8-1.
Cochranton took their win against Cambridge Springs in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
