Wasco has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasco has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Friday, Wasco came up short against Delano and fell 57-49.
Even though Taft has not done well against Chavez recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Taft came out on top against Chavez by a score of 68-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wasco has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Taft, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Wasco took a serious blow against Taft when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 71-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Taft's Blaine Neudorf, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
