The Kenston Bombers will take on the Aurora Greenmen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kenston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Kenston didn't have quite enough to beat Nordonia and fell 4-3.
Kenston got a good showing from Michael Hutchison, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Hutchison a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Kenston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Latz, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Aurora entered their tilt with Copley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Indians 11-3. While the Greenmen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Gabe Cooch made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Cooch was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Max Anzells was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Drew Scott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Kenston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Aurora, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Kenston skirted past Aurora 4-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greenmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
