The Middletown Blue Dragons's three-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 73-26 win over Maloney. With that win, Middletown brought their scoring average up to 59.5 points per game.
Leading Middletown to victory were Shalyn Smith and Tessa Porch. Smith scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Porch scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Gabby Butler, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Middletown back to even at 1-1. As for Maloney, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Newington at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Newington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Maloney, they will head out on the road to face off against East Hartford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
