Make it 12 blowout wins for the Mesquite Wildcats this season. They put the hurt on Saguaro with a sharp 62-36 victory on Tuesday. Given Mesquite's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Saguaro is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Navae Guidry was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pippa Krieger, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Mesquite is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
