The Chapmanville Regional Tigers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hoover 65-37 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Chapmanville Regional, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hoover lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Riley Johnson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Brown, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Chapmanville Regional's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Hoover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chapmanville Regional will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the The Dots at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Poca is ranked 35th, while the Tigers are ranked 19th). As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Buffalo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
