Basketball Recap: Wellpinit's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Wellpinit unfortunately witnessed the end of their 23-game winning streak dating back to last season on Saturday. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Muckleshoot Tribal Kings. The matchup marked the Redskins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Muckleshoot Tribal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Brown led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most boards Brown has posted since back in January of 2024. Michael Anderson was another key player, as he made all 7 shots he took to post 15 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wellpinit fell to 6-1. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Wellpinit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-73 victory against Taholah on the 29th. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-21 win against Chief Leschi on the 29th.
