The Mound City Panthers pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Rock Port 64-58. Mound City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rock Port apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Cade Makings was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Rock Port's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mound City and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Rock Port, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Mound City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bishop LeBlond. Rock Port is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Mound City/Craig at 9:00 p.m. on November 28th.
