Point Loma moved up to 209 from 253 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western. The Pointers climbed the ranks as a result of a 55-16 win over Kearny.
Madison extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mission Bay, 42-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Madison's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kareem Coles threw for 162 and four touchdowns and Lee Walker had 101 yards receiving. On the ground Pierre Cormier chipped in 142 yards. Vincent Parrish helped Madison's passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.
Madison's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warhawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Coles has thrown for 630 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Walker has 20 catches for 301 yards. Cormier leads the league in rushing with 707 yards.
A big matchup in Western this week will be when Point Loma takes on La Jolla. Mike Hastings' team is in second place, while the Vikings are in fourth place.
La Jolla took down University City 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. AJ Talman ran for 66 yards in the win.
