Aycock's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Southern Wayne is ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ricky Elliott, who rushed for 232 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Elliott was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
C.B. Aycock is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Southern Wayne, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7.
