The Irvin Rockets had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 1.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Austin by a score of 61-52. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Irvin considering their two-point performance the game before.
Austin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Santana Araujo-garcia, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Enrique Vasquez, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Irvin pushed their record up to 7-14 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Harmony Science Academy the next time they take the court. Austin will host Harmony Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Irvin will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
