Jasper won the last time they faced Evansville North and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with  a   7-4  win over the Huskies.

 Bryn Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  doubles and one  RBI. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Olivia Young, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Laney Werner, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 15-10-1. As for Evansville North, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
 Jasper and Evansville North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Wildcats will  challenge  Princeton  at 11:00  a.m.  on Monday with a big rank  advantage  (74 vs. 258). Meanwhile,  Evansville North (ranked 113th) will meet Evansville Harrison (ranked 284th)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
