Woodlawn's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Corliss by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corliss to victory, but perhaps none more so than D?Mario Sanders, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir McKinney, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Woodlawn's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-4. As for Corliss, their victory bumped their record up to 1-7.
Woodlawn will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Reavis at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. Reavis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Corliss will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Urban Prep-Bronzeville at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
