Weir had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Salem Quakers as they made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Riders, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Weir pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Weir didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Madonna on the 21st. As for Salem, they have also already played their next match, a 9-4 defeat against West Branch on the 22nd.
