Basketball Recap: Bishop Mclaughlin Catholic Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic lost to Academy at the Lakes back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes came out on top against the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats by a score of 41-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic found their leader in sophomore Marley Weaver, who posted 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Weaver. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliana Arana, who had six points.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.4 points per game. As for Academy at the Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 28-10 win against Hernando Christian Academy on the 9th. As for Academy at the Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-36 victory against Lakeside Christian on the 9th.
