Mishawaka is a perfect 5-0 against Michigan City since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cavemen will take on the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Mishawaka is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Mishawaka earned a 9-5 win over Mishawaka Marian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavemen.

Noah Deeds looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Will Hartzke was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 13 matches.
Meanwhile, Michigan City won against River Forest on Thursday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wolves skirted past Marquette Catholic 9-7.
Jacob Hazel made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Hazel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Michigan City is undefeated when Hazel posts two or more runs, but 6-19 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaire McKinney, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Michigan City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 1-17 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Cowgill, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Mishawaka's record now sits at 17-10. As for Michigan City, their record is now 9-19.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mishawaka has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Michigan City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mishawaka took their victory against Michigan City when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Cavemen repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
