The Glynn Academy Terrors and the Bainbridge Bearcats will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Bryan County scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Glynn Academy still came out on top. Glynn Academy came out on top against Bryan County by a score of 61-55 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). The victory was all the more spectacular given Glynn Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Bryan County is ranked 78th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glynn Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Martin Davis, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mar'kuecia Burton, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Bainbridge's three-game losing streak came to an end last Saturday. They had just enough and edged Seminole County out 50-47.
Ahleah Jones was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kyra Green, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Glynn Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Bainbridge, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Glynn Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Bainbridge, though, as they've been averaging only 26.3 rebounds per game.
