Ponderosa is 8-2 against Nevada Union since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Ponderosa Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Nevada Union Miners at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Ponderosa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Ponderosa came up short against Lincoln and fell 58-50. Ponderosa has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Keenan Patterson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lake Liebscher, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Ponderosa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Nevada Union can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They managed a 60-55 win over Oakmont. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ponderosa now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Nevada Union, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Everything came up roses for Ponderosa against Nevada Union when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 60-16 victory. With Ponderosa ahead 36-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
