The Meeteetse Longhorns can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Shoshoni by a score of 52-45. The win was just what Meeteetse needed coming off of a 65-44 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading Meeteetse to victory were Max Potas and Ethan Salzman. Potas scored 17 points along with nine rebounds, while Salzman scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Potas has scored at least 25% of Meeteetse's points. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Ogden, who scored six points along with five steals.
The victory got Meeteetse back to even at 3-3. As for Shoshoni, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meeteetse will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kaycee at 11:00 a.m. on January 6, 2024. Kaycee is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Shoshoni, they will head out on the road to face off against Big Piney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Big Piney is ranked 39th, while Shoshoni is ranked 53rd).
