The Bethune-Bowman Mohawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bridges Prep as Bethune-Bowman made off with a 63-37 victory. That looming 63-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bethune-Bowman yet this season.
Bethune-Bowman was led to victory by Zaniyah Pelzer and Cha'Myri Boneparte. Pelzer scored 15 points along with eight steals, while Boneparte scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boneparte has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Diana Zeigler, who scored five points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Bridges Prep still got an impressive performance from Zariyah Henry, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and three steals. Henry hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Lapp, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Bridges Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethune-Bowman only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Bethune-Bowman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Bridges Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethune-Bowman will take on Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Whale Branch is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Bridges Prep, they will be playing at home against Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bamberg-Ehrhardt is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.5 points per game.
