Make it ten blowout wins for the Duanesburg Eagles this season. They put the hurt on Mayfield with a sharp 73-48 victory on Wednesday. With Duanesburg ahead 48-27 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Despite the defeat, Mayfield had strong showings from Cloey Dopp, who scored 16 points, and Abigail Chest, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Dopp hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Brianna Iannuzzi was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Duanesburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Mayfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Duanesburg will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
