Volleyball Recap: Hononegah's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hononegah can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They came out on top against the Freeport Pretzels by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Hononegah easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-17.

Haylie Alfaro paced Hononegah's offense, picking up eight kills. Alfaro also shared the team's lead in assists with Lili Fox: they picked up seven each. Alfaro was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Hononegah's win bumped their record up to 22-13. As for Freeport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.

Hononegah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Harlem on the 28th. As for Freeport, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Sterling on the 28th.
