Basketball Recap: Northshore's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Northshore came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Salmen Spartans with a sharp 72-51 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Salmen still got an impressive performance from Akayla Mcmooain, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mcmooain a new career-high in boards. Kendal Thomas was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Northshore pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Salmen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Coming up, Northshore will welcome Chalmette at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northshore is facing Chalmette at the right time seeing as Chalmette is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Salmen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fontainebleau at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salmen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
