Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Comes Up Short

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the HEARTS for Jesus Christ Guardians and fell 80-43. One positive for the Patriots, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Heritage Christian lost, don't look at Joey Fusco. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. Anthony Suplita was another key player, putting up ten points.

HEARTS for Jesus Christ got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Longo out in front who went 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Longo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Aten, who put up 16 points and six rebounds.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Heritage Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-34 defeat against Reimer Road Baptist Christian on the 10th. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-29 win against Horizon Science Academy on the 6th.
