On Friday, The Garber Wolverines faced the Oklahoma Bible Trojans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Garber ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-30 walloping at the hands of Oklahoma Bible. Garber has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Garber still got an impressive performance from Domingo Ramirez, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 157 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Carson Bishop, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Jud Cheatham, who rushed for 288 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Cheatham was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Garber has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Oklahoma Bible, their win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Garber will face off against Ringwood on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Ringwood is ranked 25th, while Garber is ranked 22nd). As for Oklahoma Bible, they will be playing at home against Kremlin-Hillsdale on Friday. Kremlin-Hillsdale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
