The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shawnee Mission Northwest, who defeated 78th ranked Leavenworth, 42-21.
Olathe East's Jalen Branson recorded the longest rushing play in Sunflower this season in his game against North last week. Branson scampered for 60 yards on the play and finished with 140 on the day as his team defeated the Indians.
Connor Leach threw for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 10-12 with 0 interception.
Parker Evans made the biggest impact on defense this week as Olathe East bested North. He.
Landry Hodges was a passing and rushing force as the PIONEERS fell to the Cougars. He completed 10 passes for 141 yards and also ran for 72 yards. Hodges' favorite target this week was Isaiah Ross, who caught 5 passes for 93 yards.
Jason Randall was the best running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 171 yards as Leavenworth fell to Shawnee Mission Northwest. Teammate Hodges added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
West's AJ Verdini and Andre Maloney have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Verdini has thrown for 552 yards this season, while Maloney, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 11 catches for 290 yards. Randall from Mark Littrell's team leads the league in rushing with 547 yards.
A big matchup in Sunflower this week will be when South takes on East. As it stands, the Raiders are in fourth, while the Lancers are in second.
