The Arickaree Bison can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Bethune 47-22. 47 seems to be a good number for Arickaree as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Arickaree got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JANIYA SMITH out in front who scored 25 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points SMITH has scored all season. JULISA QUINTEROS was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bethune lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madilyn Powell. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with three steals. Powell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bethune struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Arickaree racked up 14 assists.
The win was the fourth in a row for Arickaree, bringing their record for this year to 8-4. As for Bethune, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Arickaree will head out on the road to face off against Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Aleighcea Kuntz and SMITH. As for Bethune, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Deer Trail at 5:00 p.m.
