The Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against Overbrook by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Math Civics & Sciences found their leader in underclassman Milak Myatt, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Myatt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sair Alsbrooks, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Omar Davis, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Davis is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nasir Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Math Civics & Sciences has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Overbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
