The Centennial Coyotes are taking a road trip to take on the Liberty Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Centennial is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing O'Connor: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Coyotes blew the Eagles out of the water with a 35-7 final score. The Coyotes pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.

Centennial's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Owen Reynoso, who rushed for 139 yards on only 14 carries, and Titus Hill, who threw for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hill's passing game has become a key predictor of the Coyotes' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Centennial also got help from Sebastian Moreno, who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Centennial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Centennial's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. William Bullard refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Liberty over Mountain Ridge in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Lions' defense stepped up to hand the Mountain Lions a 71-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Centennial better keep an eye on Jayden Pico. He was instrumental in Liberty's win, rushing for 56 yards and one score, while also throwing for 17 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Pico a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Marley Chancey was another key player, picking up 52 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Liberty didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyvel Calloway and Christian Garcia. Calloway got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Liberty, adding 21 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Carter Rothe, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Kaden Miller.
Centennial's record is now 4-2. As for Liberty, their record now sits at 5-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Centennial has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 380.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 386 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Centennial was dealt a bruising 45-17 loss at the hands of Liberty in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Coyotes, Hayden Fletcher (who threw for 226 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
