Slocum is 1-6 against Martinsville since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Slocum Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Martinsville Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Slocum has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Slocum took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 71-35 victory over Centerville. With Slocum ahead 35-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Martinsville can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Apple Springs 75-45 on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Martinsville had established a 28 point advantage.
Slocum's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-19. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Martinsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
Slocum came up short against Martinsville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 36-30. Can Slocum avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
