The Charleston Math & Science Riptide suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-38 walloping at the hands of Cross. While losing is never fun, Charleston Math & Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Cross is ranked 78th).
Despite the loss, Charleston Math & Science still got an impressive performance from Dalailyn Reed, who scored 15 points. Peyton Webb was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Charleston Math & Science and nudges their season record down to 1-13. As for Cross, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Charleston Math & Science will head out on the road to challenge Baptist Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cross, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. John's at 6:30 p.m.
