Western Plains/Healy is 0-4 against Dighton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Western Plains/Healy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Triplains/Brewster.
Meanwhile, Dighton put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wichita County with a sharp 59-33 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Dighton who now have three in a row.
Carson Shimer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 23 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Daniel Cramer, who scored 21 points along with seven steals.
Western Plains/Healy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Dighton, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Western Plains/Healy might still be hurting after the 48-23 loss they got from Dighton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Western Plains/Healy, Eli Wilkinson (who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
