Fairview and Boulder are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairview will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Fairview came out on top against Rock Canyon on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Knights blew past the Jaguars 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Niko Dedic looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jackson Wier was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Emry Gates, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Fairview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Boulder might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was ThunderRidge who claimed the real prize. The Panthers fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 5-4.
Sam Skubic was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Fairview's record is now 16-6. As for Boulder, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Fairview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Boulder struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Fairview came out on top in a nail-biter against Boulder when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
