Basketball Recap: Jake Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Fellowship over Tipton

On Friday, Christian Fellowship were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-50 to the Tipton Cardinals.

Several Christian Fellowship players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Davis, who went 10 of 23 en route to 26 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Davis has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davis, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Christian Fellowship smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Among those leading the charge was Dane Schlotzhauer, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Andrew Bestgen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Christian Fellowship's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Tipton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Christian Fellowship has already played their next match (against Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tipton will welcome Harrisburg at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrisburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Tipton likes a good challenge.
