Chandler Park Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Detroit Community on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Hurricanes. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.

Jayden Lawson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Lawson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Chandler Park Academy is undefeated when Lawson posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Codee Turner was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Montell Woods, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Chandler Park Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, University Prep came up short against Summit Academy North on Wednesday, falling 9-3. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Chandler Park Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for University Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Chandler Park Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against University Prep in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
